Large remote wetland surrounded by spruce forest. Slightly higher ground has Hypericum densiflorum community. Lower areas along the creek have Leersia, Sparganium, and Eleocharis (see plots MONF.112, .111).;Intermediated elevations between meanderings of a small stream. Successional patch with clear dominance by Carex scoparia with Scirpus cyperinus (vegetative). Hummocky, relatively dry ground, would have been much wetter prior to the breaching of the beaver dam downstream. High elevation with possible frost pocket effects may influence dominance types seen here but not elsewhere.
Representativeness
Plot is most of a small patch, which is repeated as one of the "matrix" types of the larger wetland.
